Electrical Engineer II - IV

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II - IV to join our Chicago, IL office. As a Supervising Engineer, you will represent the firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members, supervising, coordinating, and assigning projects to the team.

As an Electrical Engineer III, you will perform trade‑specific system design—including layout, calculations (using appropriate software), and coordination with architectural, engineering/internal and external designs.

• Participates in various trade organizations and prepares presentations.
• Manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff assigned to particular projects or tasks as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
• Assists with employee reviews as requested.
• Estimates construction costs and evaluates feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude).
• Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer.

Someone with a history of working on critical facilities projects would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical discipline from an accredited university.
• 1.5‑7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field.
• Current EIT certification; PE preferred or alternate certification (Plbg – CPD, BMS – CEM, FLS – NICET & NFPA).
• Ability to make proper system selections with or without supervision of senior designer/senior engineer.
• Understanding of the work of other trades.
• Though not mandatory, experience applying LEED principles to building design is a plus.
• Proficiency with trade‑specific design and calculation software.
• Good dispute‑resolution skills.
• Ability to prepare CAD red marks and evaluate floor plans, sections, elevations and 3‑D building space.

Chicago Pay Range

$71,684 - $125,107 USD
