The client is a program administrator for specialty property casualty and professional liability products and, as a general agency and third party administrator for employee benefit and life products, they are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Controller in the Northwest suburbs to lead their accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The Controller ensures the accuracy of financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and leads the accounting team to maintain efficient and effective financial processes.

• Manage accounting operations: AR/AP, GL, payroll, and financial reporting
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Lead and mentor accounting staff
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning
• Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors
• Reconcile monthly Balance Sheet, WIP to general ledger

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required)
• 10 years of corporate, public, or a mix
• 5 years of management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills
