The Full-Time Business Manager supports the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the school’s financial operations, compliance, and business functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality. The Business Manager will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient business processes, and alignment with the mission and core values of Westside Atlanta Charter School.
Key Responsibilities Financial & Budget Support- Assist the CFO with budget preparation, monitoring, and forecasting.
- Track departmental and grant budgets to ensure alignment with approved allocations.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements in compliance with school policies.
- Compose reconciliation of key accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
- Prepare bi-monthly payroll and reports.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
- Attend monthly finance committee meetings and maintain minutes.
- Maintain vendor records and process payments according to established terms.
- Assist with vendor bid processes and contract renewals.
- Assist with record-keeping to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the CFO for meetings, reports, and presentations.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for business and financial documents.
- Support special projects as assigned by the CFO.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or business administration from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a field related to business or finance; and
- Documented experience at a charter school and/or public school in business operations area.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (Quick Books or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Westside Atlanta Charter School.
- Full-time schedule (flexible within standard business hours).
- On-site presence required for the majority of responsibilities; remote work may be possible for minimal select tasks.
- Compensation commensurate with experience.
