Responsibilities- Strategy & Program Ownership
- Own and continuously optimize the company's B2B card payment acceptance strategy across all payment channels.
- Lead negotiation and management of relationships with merchant bank, processor (Chase Paymentech), card networks (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and specialty platforms (Stripe).
- Develop and execute a multi‑year roadmap aligned with corporate growth, cost management, and technology objectives.
- Interchange & Cost Optimization
- Manage interchange fee strategy, including qualification optimization, MCC assignments, and data enrichment.
- Analyze merchant discount rates and processing fee structures; benchmark against industry peers.
- Lead RFPs and contract renegotiations; evaluate pricing models.
- Monitor network fee schedules and model financial exposure to fee changes.
- Operations & Settlement Management
- Oversee day‑to‑day card payment processing operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate authorization, clearing, and settlement across all payment channels.
- Monitor settlement reconciliation between Chase Paymentech remittances and the general ledger; resolve discrepancies.
- Manage Stripe platform for niche business units, including configuration and fee monitoring.
- Establish operational procedures, controls, and SLAs for payment processing.
- Chargeback & Dispute Management
- Own the chargeback and dispute management program across all card networks.
- Develop and enforce representment strategies and documentation standards.
- Monitor chargeback ratios; collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and legal teams to reduce dispute volume.
- Risk, Fraud & Compliance
- Maintain full PCI‑DSS compliance across card acceptance environments.
- Serve as Treasury liaison to the company's PCI compliance program; collaborate on annual assessments and remediation.
- Oversee tokenization, encryption, and fraud prevention tools.
- Stay current on card network regulations, NACHA rules, and regulatory changes.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain KPIs and management reporting covering payment volume, cost of acceptance, interchange optimization, chargeback rates, fraud losses, and settlement performance.
- Deliver executive‑level reporting to Treasury and Finance leadership.
- Build financial models to evaluate new payment initiatives.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Act as Treasury subject matter expert on card payments for Finance, Accounting, Sales Operations, IT, Legal, and business unit leaders.
- Partner with IT and product teams on payment technology integrations and API connectivity.
- Support M&A activity and onboarding new entities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop any direct reports within the card payments function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in treasury, payments, or financial operations.
- 3+ years of direct hands‑on experience in merchant card payments.
- MBA or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) preferred.
- Deep knowledge of card payments ecosystem, including card networks, interchange structures, and payment gateways.
- Experience managing high‑volume merchant processing and acquirer relationships.
- Familiarity with Stripe or comparable PSP/Pay Fac platforms.
- Strong understanding of PCI‑DSS requirements and merchant compliance lifecycle.
- Proven experience managing chargeback and dispute programs across multiple card networks.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/financial modeling; experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and treasury management systems (TMS).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience with B2B card payment optimization, including Level 2 / Level 3 data processing.
- Familiarity with virtual card (vCard) acceptance.
