About the Role
The Model Risk Analyst (MRM) supports model validation and risk governance within the Model Risk Management Group, blending technical data analytics with administrative documentation to strengthen the bank’s financial modeling framework.
Responsibilities- Lead innovation by challenging current credit and financial model methods and proposing enhancements.
- Collaborate with model owners and stakeholders to present testing results and recommend risk‑management improvements.
- Automate and optimize the modeling process to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Explain and present testing results to MRM, model owners, and other stakeholders.
- Work with fellow risk analysts to perform ad‑hoc analysis supporting model‑related initiatives.
- Review model data sources, assumptions, and theory for conceptual soundness.
- Perform sensitivity, attribution, benchmarking, back‑testing, and independent analyses of applicable models.
- Challenge model owners by identifying potential weaknesses and providing constructive recommendations.
- Graduate degree (MS/MA/MBA) in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, or Econometrics.
- 0–3 years of modeling or model validation experience.
- Passion for risk management and a strong analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and critical‑thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of statistics (logistic regression) and basic data analysis.
- Experience with SQL, R, or Python.
- Basic understanding of fixed‑income securities or mortgage products; CFA/FRM certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of stochastic processes or interest‑rate model techniques preferred.
- Experience with machine learning techniques (regression, classification) preferred.
- Familiarity with Tableau and Level‑of‑Detail (LOD) expressions preferred.

Salary Range$75,325 – $125,500, based on experience and qualifications.
