Overview

The Credit Underwriter – Sr. Inventory Finance will analyze and monitor creditworthiness of assigned customers/accounts, recommending or approving credit within established guidelines, and handling all related documentation and analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite high‑quality credit narratives for new and existing loans.
  • Review and analyze applications, financial statements, balance sheets, D&B reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Spread business financial statements and tax returns using Moody's software to analyze multi‑year trends and ratios.
  • Identify cash flow sources from operations, distinguishing recurring and non‑recurring items.
  • Research industry trends and risks related to assigned accounts.
  • Perform collateral analysis for accounts receivable, inventory, real estate, and investments.
  • Run credit reports and gather and analyze KYC information.
  • Spread personal financial statements and tax returns for individual guarantors; develop borrower and guarantor global cash‑flow analysis.
  • Work with other areas to monitor delinquency, delinquency trends, and repossession activity.
  • Conduct annual financial‑statement follow‑up to borrowers and track receipt of updated information by the bank.
  • Prepare written recommendations on loan approval and alternate loan structures.
  • Present recommendations to the loan committee for approval.
  • Communicate decisions to stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • At least 3 years wholesale/commercial credit underwriting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills, including cash‑flow, leverage, and customer strength assessment.
  • Experience underwriting deal sizes ranging from 2million to 10million dollars.
  • Experience lending to a wide variety of industries, loan types, and company sizes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound business judgments while protecting the bank’s interests.
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills.
