Senior Auditor

Audit Services offers financial services professionals the opportunity to work on some of the most complex and impactful issues in the industry. Our team applies insight, objectivity, and technical expertise to help protect and strengthen Northern Trust's legacy. We are a collaborative, globally connected team of over 200 professionals.

The Senior Auditor is responsible for conducting and documenting audits across Asset and Wealth Management. This role leads audit project teams, which includes providing oversight to the audit team and communicating results of the engagement to management. The Senior Auditor provides technical expertise and training to auditors within the engagement audit team and works closely with Senior Audit Managers to confirm the scope of the audit and to devise an appropriate testing approach to be performed during the engagement.

Major

Duties
  • Leads moderately complex audits end to end - one at a time
  • Advancing understanding of audit methodology/standards
  • Advanced testing and first level reviews of less complex tests
  • Lead presentations of findings
Planning:
  • Assist in the development of the audit objective and testing approach
  • Lead as Auditor in Charge (AIC) on less complex audit engagements
  • Complete planning documents
  • Lead walkthroughs, develop process flows; identify risks collect materials
  • Develop Opening Meeting deck
  • Drafts risk and controls; assign inherent risk rating
Fieldwork:
  • Perform higher complexity tests
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders on testing findings
  • Perform first level (L1) reviews on less complex tests
Reporting:
  • Assist in first drafts of audit issues
  • Assist in drafting report
Data Analytics:
  • Proactively identify DA opportunities
Issue Validation:
  • Performs testing
  • Drafts memo
Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of audit/accounting principles usually obtained through related work experience and a four year degree program is required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills - including effective business writing skills
  • Interest in pursuing professional certifications (e.g. CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA)
Experience
  • A College or University degree and 3+ years auditing experience in a financial institution

Salary Range: $74, USD
