Associate Director – Audit (Risk & Control Enhancement)

As an Associate Director, you will lead audit teams in designing and executing risk‑based audit programs for Northern Trust’s Risk and Control Enhancement transformation program. You will manage audit activities, assess and adjust the audit universe, and develop continuous monitoring in partnership with business and corporate stakeholders.

• Oversee and lead audit validation activities within the transformation program.
• Manage all audit activities in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain an effective risk‑based audit program.
• Complete risk assessments, propose changes to the audit universe, and develop audit plans with coverage and timing.
• Develop continuous monitoring activities to track changes in business units and corporate functions.

• 12+ years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM).
• Advanced knowledge of compliance regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills, including business writing and presentations.
• Experience with transformation programs and auditing ERM, ORM, and compliance risk activities.

Salary range: $114,700 – $194,900 USD (base pay).
