The Account Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Chicago Area, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for managing relationships with banking partners, borrowers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution of commercial loan placements. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating loan opportunities, gathering and reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with underwriting teams, and tracking deals through the approval and closing process.
The Account Manager will communicate frequently with clients to provide updates, clarify requirements, and address questions, while maintaining accurate records in CRM and loan management systems. The role also includes identifying new referral sources, supporting business development initiatives, and collaborating with colleagues to improve processes and client experience.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial lending, banking, or financial services, with familiarity in SBA and conventional loan products.
- Strong skills in client relationship management, account management, and professional communication (written and verbal).
- Ability to review and interpret financial statements, credit reports, and supporting loan documentation with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace), and comfort working in hybrid settings.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deals, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset and problem-solving skills to work effectively with underwriting, operations, and business development teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Prior experience in the Greater Chicago Area commercial banking market or similar environment is a plus.
