Description
The Department of Epidemiology at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health has an immediate opening for post-doctoral fellow to work on dementia care; home- and community-based services; and aging-in-place. This is an opportunity for a fellow to lead analyses, manuscripts, and conference presentations on assessing dementia care in home and community-based settings. Overview The postdoctoral research fellow will contribute to several ongoing, and new studies that accelerate collaborative research on measurement and data around dementia home- and community-based services (HCBS). The fellow will play a key role in the Community Care Network for Dementia (CaN-D), generating and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, working with three different working groups, contributing to scientific publications, and supporting policy tools and analyses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Prepare statistical analysis plans and conduct advanced quantitative analyses
* Develop codebooks, indicator lists, and conduct mixed methods analyses.
* Lead and co-author manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
* Prepare data reports, data presentations, literature reviews, and other deliverables.
* Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in aging sciences.
* Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate research assistants.
* Participate in grant proposal development to support the expansion of the research program and the fellows own research interests
The initial appointment is for one year; renewal for a second year is expected if progress is satisfactory, and funds are available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field.
* Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
* The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
* Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* PhD (or equivalent) in public health, health services, health policy, gerontology, or social work.
* Proficiency with data analysis and coding language (SAS, R, STATA, SPSS, Python, etc.) ideally with experience applying these methods to questions in Alzheimer's disease, dementia, aging care, Medicaid waivers, and family caregiver supports within HCBS settings.
* Evidence of strong methodological skills (dissertation or published manuscripts).
* Proven ability to communicate findings to both academic and practitioner audiences, and to work effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary, and international research teams.
* Self-motivated, organized, collaborative, and able to balance independent research with teamwork across multiple projects.
