Position Overview- HIM Inpatient Coder - Strong academic, trauma and/or research university coding experience.
Pay Rate: $44.70/Hour
Responsibilities- Assign ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Abstract selected data items and enter them in 3M encoder/Epic software with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Complete UHDDS data abstraction as required.
- Maintain a log of work performed.
- Complete other assigned duties as directed by management.
- Knowledge: RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS Certification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in inpatient medical record coding
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency with Windows applications, Outlook, Webex and other apps as needed to perform the role
- Ability to concentrate on task in an open distracting environment in an independent manner; minimizing distractions in a private work-from-home space
- Ability to apply local, state, and federal coding guidelines with attention to detail
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)
Job Duration: 26 weeks (with possibility of contract-to-hire)
