Hourly Salary - $75/hour for max 2000 hours annually, anything over 40 hours will still be compensated at straight time – $150,000 annual salary max

Travel time will be compensated at a rate of $37.50/hour

Please Note: Former retired state employees will only be allowed to hire in at 80% of their base retirement salary.

This position is for a Personal Services Contract, not a full-time employee position. Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Medical Coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of MOUD services. This includes responsibility of ensuring the programs are compliant with policies and procedures, local health authority, federal and state regulations, and ACA and NCCHC standards and guidelines. This position will oversee all medical aspects of the MOUD program.

Along with the MOUD Project Coordinator, serves as the point of contact for Department of Corrections and vendor staff.

Essential Functions
  • MOUD Program Design and recommending updates as necessary that adhere to and in compliance with contractual requirements, accrediting body, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor Contract Compliance (Medical Provider and Pharmacy)
  • Medicaid 1115 Waiver
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate auditing policies, procedures, and standards for addiction medicine services by site and regional levels.
  • Provide Staff Training and Guidance
  • Discharge Planning for individuals on MOUD
  • Establish linkage of services for all medications
  • Monitor and Support Electronic Medical Record Workflow
  • Maintain and report statistics related to MOUD services per site and statewide roll ups.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the DOC client.
  • Observe and audit services on site as needed to ensure proper implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure current evidenced-based clinical practice is consistent with the standards.
  • Triage and problem-solve medical concerns with the medical vendor.
  • Monitor and intervene on all medication diversion, including attempted diversion.
