Position: Full Time Psychotherapist

Ida Lillie Psychotherapy and Wellness is a Black, woman-led group practice dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care with a focus on marginalized and underrepresented communities. Named in honor of the founders’ grandmothers, the practice is grounded in ancestral respect and communal care. The team brings more than 25 years of combined experience across community mental health, specialized treatment centers, and private practice.

Clinicians are trained to offer culturally attuned, identity-affirming support that addresses gaps in traditional mental health services. Ida Lillie is committed to creating an inclusive environment where all clients can access intentional, reparative care.

Role Description

The Full Time Psychotherapist will provide direct clinical services to clients, including individual, couples, and family psychotherapy, within a hybrid model based in Chicago, IL, with some work-from-home flexibility. The psychotherapist will offer culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, collaborate with colleagues for case consultation, and participate in regular supervision and team meetings. Additional tasks may include coordinating care with external providers, contributing to group programming or workshops, and supporting practice-wide initiatives that promote wellness in marginalized communities.

Qualifications
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field; active or eligible clinical licensure in Illinois (e.g., LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PsyD, PhD) preferred.
  • Experience providing psychotherapy in community mental health, private practice, or similar clinical settings, with a commitment to serving marginalized populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills; ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Chicago, IL, including both in-person and telehealth services, and willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
