Human Resource Manager
Responsible for the development and implementation of those policies and programs related to human resource management including employment strategies, benefit programs, training and education, and occupational safety toward maintaining a culture that aligns with company goals for employee engagement and retention.
Works with Management Team to monitor the effectiveness of existing human resource strategies, policies and systems to determine if company goals are being met and promotes changes by analyzing industry trends.
Acts as the focal point to ensure company policies and practices are followed to provide employees with an environment that promotes and supports their development and makes them feel valued and respected for their contributions to the company.
Oversees and administers the weekly payroll process to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
Provides company-wide communication through newsletters, promotions and events to encourage employee engagement and interactions while also updating them on current company goals and activities.
Develops and maintains job descriptions, organizational charts and related materials to clearly define job functions and responsibilities to ensure that hiring and appraisals are clearly communicated.
Directs recruitment activities including venues to be used, pre-screening of applicants, and internal job hiring process.
Coordinates the on-boarding process from offer letters to familiarizing new hire of company environment to promote their success.
Compiles and analyzes data regarding employee retention and turnover rates and makes recommendations regarding methods to retain employees and increase their job and company engagement.
Manages all aspects of the use, placement and training of any temporary hires through employment agencies.
Oversees benefit programs such as vacation and 401(k) to ensure procedures are in place to process payroll with accurate information needed for proper issuance of employee compensation and benefits.
Supervises the administration of employee issues relating to benefit programs including promotion of the programs and notification of changes.
Annually reviews benefit programs and participates in the final selection of carriers for employee benefits.
Consults with Management Team and other supervisors to determine and implement training and education of workforce.
Compiles data and analyzes past and current training and education to evaluate success of programs and make recommendations regarding on-going activities including retention of all training/education records.
Acts as a member of the Safety Committee team.
Coordinates company safety program including work safety standards; purchase and distribution of safety equipment; and coordination of outside provider activities.
Works with the EHS Manager and oversees the handling with the worker's compensation carrier.
Prepares reports and maintains records to ensure company compliance with governmental agencies concerning issues such as EEO, ADA, FMLA and OSHA.
May be required to follow other job-related instructions and duties, as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certificate
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of human resource related education or work experience with 200+ workforce.
Previous supervisory experience.
Strong leadership, decision making, organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Multi-tasker with good time management and conflict management skills
Computer systems proficiency especially Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint, HRIS
Background in manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
Lift or move up to 20 pounds occasionally
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
Accommodation as required for reading documents, computer screens, and using phone systems.
Working Conditions:
Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Both active and sedentary work, which may involve repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers, walking, standing, bending and lifting. Eligible for remote work per policy.
