Employment Practices Intern

The Global Employment Practices (GEP) team, which is part of HR, ensures that Cox Automotive has a comprehensive, proactive employment practices strategy that fosters consistent positive employee experiences, ensures compliance, and mitigates risk. This position will gain experience and provide support in employee relations, global mobility & immigration, HR compliance, and employment practices, policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:
  • Research and summarize best practices regarding various employment policies and practices.
  • Provide policy development and administration support in response to new or changing business needs or employment laws.
  • Provide administration support for training initiatives focused on workplace practices.
  • Provide general administrative support for employee relations.
  • Create new files for domestic mobility and immigration files in Global Mobility case management platform. Initiate new cases with service providers.
  • Support wage audits
  • Support Unemployment Claims Process
  • Aid with fulfilling requests for personnel files
  • Provide support for I-9 audit projects as needed
  • Provide administrative support for HR Compliance as needed
  • Assist with the review and approval of global remote work requests
Who You Are:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program Human Resources, Business Administration, Pre-Law, and related programs
  • Can adapt to change and work effectively in ambiguity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and online research
  • Are a problem solver with strong communication and organizational skills

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
