Overview

Asana’s marketing team is a fast-moving, collaborative group that builds a brand customers know, trust, and love. In this role, you’ll lead Asana’s always-on social engagement strategy as part of the content engine driving organic growth and advocacy. Social is a critical influence channel for peer validation, trust-building, and company perception. It’s where buyers discover solutions, validate decisions, and form opinions.

Your mission is to ensure Asana shows up with credibility, clarity, and consistency in these moments, turning engagement into measurable marketing outcomes.

Working alongside our Social Content Lead and a dedicated Content Designer, you’ll actively shape category conversations about work, AI, collaboration, and productivity across priority platforms, including Linked In, You Tube, Instagram, and Reddit. You’ll engage directly in open, public social conversations when Asana is mentioned or discussed, participate in relevant non-branded discussions, and scale advocacy by enabling employees, partners, and community members to act as trusted voices.

You’ll also design and execute high-impact engagement moments — including AMA-style conversations focused on product capabilities, workflows, and practitioner use cases — that connect audiences with Asana leaders and product experts.

This role is based in our Chicago office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

  • Proactively participate in high-value, public, non-branded conversations about work, marketing, operations, collaboration, and AI where Asana can add value or clarity.
  • Respond to product questions, feedback, and issues surfaced through social channels in a timely, human, and on-brand manner, reinforcing trust during launches, incidents, and high-visibility moments.
  • Partner with Support and Communications to elevate issues and coordinate responses, ensuring clear ownership and consistent follow-through.
  • Own Asana’s Reddit presence, including ongoing engagement, social care, and the planning and execution of AMA-style conversations with product experts, executives, and industry leaders.
  • Own and scale Asana’s employee, customer, and partner social advocacy program using Sprout Social, curating pre-approved, role-relevant content organized around company, product, hiring, and functional themes.
  • Use social listening and engagement signals to identify emerging themes, risks, and opportunities, sharing actionable insights with Brand, Communications, Product Marketing, and Support teams.
  • Continuously evolve how social engagement drives trust, relevance, and business value in real-world social conversations.
About you:
  • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.

  • Strong content creation skills, particularly video editing and copywriting.
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific engagement strategies, community dynamics, and social listening.
  • Experience with Sprout Social or similar social management and advocacy tools; strong analytical skills using Excel, Google Sheets, or related platforms.
  • Proven ability to translate social listening insights into clear, actionable engagement strategies.
  • Sound judgment balancing authentic community participation with brand representation in fast-moving environments.
