OverviewPico is currently seeking Design and Implementation engineering candidates to deliver best in class low latency connectivity solutions for Pico's clients and internal infrastructure projects in line with Pico's standards and strategic framework. The Network Implementation Engineer will be a proactive, solutions-oriented engineer with highly developed organization and attention to detail skills. This individual will be responsible for working with the Service Operations (NOC) Team to ensure that all escalations are dealt with in a timely and effective manner, transferring knowledge and building skills among Service Operations Team.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Design, deploy, and manage problem resolution for a large service provider network infrastructure
- Perform daily checkouts of the environment and following any changes
- Construct valid configurations for implementation based upon design and/or technical concepts
- Support deployment and maintenance of firewalls, network switches, routers, and other network appliances
- Apply configuration changes via our change control systems and processes; perform peer review of configurations scheduled for deployment
- Perform network infrastructure changes in a diligent and professional manner
- Participate in on‑call rotation for support escalations
- Troubleshoot internal and external customer issues related to changes; participate in daily meetings to review changes and underlying impacts
- Work with network engineering team to design new client‑specific connectivity solutions
- Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when required
- 10-14 years’ experience deploying and supporting firewall and network equipment in a service provider environment or a large‑scale enterprise network
- Experience with Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Arista, and Nexus hardware and software
- Strong knowledge of IPSec VPN, NAT and managing firewall policy
- Highly proficient in routing protocols: BGP
- Knowledge of TCP, UDP and upper layer protocols
- Multicast experience will be preferred
- Experience with cross-connectivity to high-speed, ultra-low latency financial markets and venues
- Familiarity with Ansible, Linux, Python
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and effectively lead to system recovery
- Clear verbal and written communication

- Willingness to share knowledge and help others develop

This is a remote position with weekly time in the office and flexibility to work from home. The role holder will be expected to work Tuesday‑Saturday. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).
CompensationFull compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certification. New York pay range: $150,000 – $180,000 USD.
