Position: Helpdesk Intake Coordinator (IT)

Avalon Risk Management (“Avalon”) is a specialty insurance broker with offices throughout the U.S. and Canada. We focus on the unique and exciting world of risk management and insurance products for the international trade and logistics industry. Avalon is a privately held company owned by our founding management team. We are looking for a Level 1 helpdesk teammate to join our IT department.

This full-time non-exempt (hourly) position will work from our headquarters located at 200 N. Martingale Rd., Ste. 700, Schaumburg, Illinois 60173.

We are looking for candidates with a track record of tenacity and customer service. While PC competency is required, we can teach you the additional technical skills. To succeed, one must be detail-oriented and be able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and stay organized. You must be flexible in your day to day to handle special projects that may arise. Excellent time management skills are a must, and you must be able to work well with a team and on your own.

Your desire to seek out solutions and help our employees and clients is what sets you apart. Our next hire will have a solid work ethic foundation and is looking to grow their skills.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Capture all issues accurately into our ticket system (e.g. Zendesk) and elevate to higher tiered support as needed
  • Field phone calls via Avalon's help desk support numbers
  • Handle minor software issues through troubleshooting or escalating to higher tiered support
  • Maintain, configure, and support Windows OS computers
  • Document support issues and their respective resolution
  • Support Avalon office moves with set up of new services and equipment.
  • Other projects as needed

The successful candidate will be a team player and be willing to share new ideas. You must be very organized and willing to learn new concepts, programs, etc. Our support team members are tenacious and enjoy seeking out complete solutions. Avalon is a premier provider of innovative insurance and surety solutions. This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position with a starting base compensation range of $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
