Position: Global Business Resilience Director (US)

Position Overview

Global Business Resilience Director (US). Hybrid work model: 3 days in-office per week with flexibility for remote work.

This director leads enterprise strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Elevance Health’s business response and recovery program to ensure rapid and resilient recovery from events that threaten critical business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the enterprise Incident Commander for high‑severity events (e.g., ransomware, cyber incidents, vendor failures, natural disasters), establishing response structure, cadence, and coordinating cross‑functional recovery actions.
  • Lead executive response during events, including briefings, decision facilitation, escalation, and action tracking to enable rapid recovery prioritization.
  • Design, build, and continuously enhance an innovative, efficient, and comprehensive business resilience and response program covering preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, and continuity planning.
  • Direct organizational response and recovery management efforts and oversee end‑to‑end program operations.
  • Coordinate and deliver enterprise business resilience training for senior executives and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for emergency planning.
  • Build and scale executive readiness programs, including tabletop exercises and simulations focused on enterprise disruption scenarios.
  • Conduct organizational resilience assessments and lead international business resilience responses.
  • Anticipate, monitor, and communicate emerging business resilience threats and geopolitical trends, driving recommendations for strategic resilience enhancements.
  • Coordinate the organization’s resilience risk model program and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives on resilience initiatives.
  • Optimize, govern, and manage global business resilience internal tools and technology; oversee project and program delivery and integrated governance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work from one of the following locations (commutable):
    Woodland Hills, CA;
    Denver, CO;
    Chicago, IL;
    New York City, NY;
    Norfolk, VA.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an enterprise Incident Commander or Major Incident Leader coordinating response and recovery across cybersecurity, technology, operations, and third parties.
  • Proven ability to partner with and brief senior executives during live events, facilitating rapid decision‑making and recovery prioritization.
  • Experience building enterprise resiliency plans and playbooks, including cyber and ransomware recovery preparedness and exercises.
  • Experience designing and delivering executive training programs to improve crisis response readiness.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Business Continuity/Resilience certification (e.g., CBCP‑DRII, MBCI‑BCI, or equivalent).
  • Experience coordinating large‑scale global resilience governance and risk alliance teams.
Location & Compensation

Salary range: $156,800 – $282,240 (based on geographic location, experience, education, and skill level). Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase plan, and 401(k) contribution.
