About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support critical healthcare operations and serve as the liaison between business operations, IT, claims, and testing teams. This is a highly visible role focused on production support, operational analysis, business validation, and technology solution alignment within a complex healthcare environment.
Unlike a traditional requirements-focused Business Analyst position, this role requires someone who thrives in a live production environment, can identify and resolve operational issues, perform deep data analysis, and collaborate closely with both business and technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting healthcare payer operations, troubleshooting production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring successful business outcomes throughout the software development and implementation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day production operations and business processes within a healthcare payer environment.
- Identify, analyze, document, and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
- Partner closely with business operations, claims, IT, and testing teams to drive issue resolution and process improvements.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret business requirements for complex operational initiatives.
- Perform business validation to ensure solutions align with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Review and validate test plans, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and provide business sign-off when appropriate.
- Conduct data analysis, data mapping, reporting, and business process assessments.
- Analyze operational and claims-related data to support business decision-making.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to support strategic technology and operational initiatives.
- Document business processes, workflows, requirements, and solution recommendations.
- Communicate production impacts, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support configuration and implementation-related projects as needed.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to department best practices and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of Business Analyst experience preferred.
- Sr. Business Analyst experience supporting healthcare operations, preferably within payer or claims environments.
- Experience supporting production operations, not solely requirements gathering.
- Strong business validation, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience partnering with IT, claims, business operations, and UAT teams.
- Strong data analysis experience.
- Experience with data mapping.
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience reviewing and approving test plans and validating UAT outcomes.
- SQL experience required, Microsoft SQL experience preferred
- Experience with reporting, data analysis, and operational metrics.
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable business recommendations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
