Senior Network Engineer – Site Readiness
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will design, analyze, plan, and modify network components to support customer communication implementation activities. Your work involves moderately to highly complex issues that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
In this role you will be responsible for the technical planning, deployment, testing, and validation of network infrastructure for new site openings, acquisitions, and enterprise healthcare facilities. You will lead site readiness activities including IT closet build‑outs, low‑voltage cabling, carrier circuit delivery, SD‑WAN and network deployments, infrastructure testing, and go‑live support.
Responsibilities- Plan, deploy, test, and validate network infrastructure for new sites, acquisitions, and enterprise healthcare facilities.
- Lead IT closet build‑outs, low‑voltage cabling, carrier circuit delivery, SD‑WAN, and network deployments.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and construction partners to ensure sites are fully operational and compliant with enterprise standards.
- Own end‑to‑end technical readiness, ensuring all IT infrastructure, carrier services, network equipment, and testing are complete before go‑live.
- Resolve technical, infrastructure, vendor, and schedule risks impacting site openings.
- Document standards governance and operational handoff for long‑term supportability.
- Implement process improvements to increase deployment consistency, scalability, and operational readiness.
- Proven ownership of end‑to‑end site readiness activities, including planning, execution, issue resolution, and go‑live support.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical, infrastructure, vendor, and schedule risks impacting site openings.
- Expertise validating IT infrastructure readiness, including IT closets, cabling, carrier services, network equipment, and supporting technologies.
- Demonstrated experience managing low‑voltage vendors, carriers, and implementation partners to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
- Strong testing, validation, and acceptance management experience for network and infrastructure deployments.
- Experience leading technical implementations within aggressive timelines while maintaining network stability and operational standards.
- Ability to coordinate complex dependencies across Network Engineering, Operations, Telecom, Security, Facilities, Construction, and Project Management teams.
- Experience executing large‑scale site deployments, acquisitions, relocations, and network modernization initiatives.
- Strong documentation, standards governance, and operational handoff experience supporting long‑term supportability.
- Demonstrated success driving process improvements that increase deployment consistency, scalability, and operational readiness.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 or more years of Network Engineering experience.
- 3+ years of executing large‑scale infrastructure projects and deployments.
- Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Master’s degree.
- Must provide a high‑speed DSL or cable modem for a home office;
California residents receive internet expense reimbursement. - Minimum standard speed: 25 Mbps download × 10 Mbps upload.
- Satellite and wireless Internet service are not allowed.
- Dedicated space without interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.
Weekly Hours40 hours per week.
Pay Range$97,900 – $133,500 per year. This range is an estimate of starting base pay for full‑time employment and may vary based on location and individual qualifications. The role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
