Risk Manager/Analyst, Insurance Claims
Our client is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to take ownership of complex workers’ compensation claims from initial assignment through closure. In this role, you will manage high‑exposure and catastrophic claims while partnering closely with third‑party administrators (TPAs), self‑administered accounts, and internal teams to drive effective claim outcomes. You will evaluate coverage, establish reserves, direct settlement strategies, oversee litigation, and collaborate with medical management and underwriting.
This position requires someone who is analytical, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment. Remote work is available for candidates outside commuting distance to a client office; individuals living near a client office location will follow a hybrid schedule in accordance with company policy.
- Manage assigned workers’ compensation claims from initial investigation through final resolution.
- Evaluate coverage, determine exposure, establish reserves, and direct settlement strategies.
- Oversee litigated claims, including coordination with defense counsel and participation in mediations or hearings.
- Collaborate with TPAs and self‑administered accounts to ensure best‑practice claim handling.
- Partner with internal departments such as Underwriting and Medical Management to support coordinated claim strategies.
- Participate in medical management discussions, reinsurance processes, and internal audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate claim trends, exposures, and significant developments to leadership.
- Work independently while managing a high‑volume, multi‑jurisdictional caseload.
- 5+ years of workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience with an insurance carrier or TPA.
- Multi‑jurisdictional workers’ compensation experience required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Remote work available; hybrid schedule required for candidates residing near a client office location.
