Private Underwriter - Management Liability

We are recruiting a D&O Private Company Underwriter to market, underwrite and produce profitable business for our Executive Liability Division, which underwrites Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance, Employment Practices Liability Insurance, and Fiduciary Liability Insurance for public, private and not‑for‑profit companies. The position will entail marketing and underwriting new and renewal business in accordance with Company objectives and policies. (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..gr

Employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week with one day of remote work. The position is based in our Schaumburg, IL office and the title/grade will depend on the applicant’s level of experience.

• Manage an assigned book of business, evaluating, underwriting, and pricing accounts within authority guidelines.
• Perform risk selection, rejection, retention, growth, and profitability activities within scope of authority and per divisional objectives.
• Conduct financial statement analysis of prospective risks and recommend pricing and terms consistent with underwriting guidelines.
• Service complex multi‑line risks.
• Communicate directly with brokers to develop and maintain strong relationships.
• Conduct marketing visits out of state.
• Promptly issue quotes, policies, and endorsements.
• Understand, compare, and contrast policy language, both internal and competitor forms.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• 0 to 5 years of experience in insurance, banking, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting or a related business field.
• High level of organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for building customer relationships and marketing products and services.
• Must be able to travel as needed and work autonomously.

Business Unit:
Executive Liability. Salary Range: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00.
