Position Summary
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about helping people restore their lives when the unexpected happens to their homes and delivering the best customer experience.
After completing our training program, ideal candidates will transition into a property claims field adjusting position traveling to loss sites that have been damaged by fire, water, weather, or other unexpected events, with opportunities to handle claims via virtual technology and collaborate with vendors.
Geo‑Salary InformationState‑specific pay scales for this role are as follows:
- $69,845 to $129,284 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)
- The expected base salary will vary by experience, skills, and location.
Essential Job Functions:
- Investigate and resolve Homeowners claims of moderate complexity efficiently, documenting with photographs, measurements, recorded interviews, writing repair estimates, and completing thorough file notes.
- Perform field inspections at least 50% of the time (company car provided) to conduct on‑site inspections, assess coverage, and prepare detailed estimates.
- Handle virtual claims using imagery and advanced video technology to work with onsite vendors and insureds.
- Compare investigation facts against policy coverage, extending or denying coverage as appropriate.
- Establish reserves within settlement authority limits, negotiate settlements, and recommend claims exceeding personal authority to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively and timely with insureds and representatives to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction, adhering to Department of Insurance requirements.
- Prioritize responsibilities and manage workload, monitoring progress and expenses to resolve claims efficiently.
- Direct, monitor, and review files handled by independent adjusters when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain state‑specific property claims licensing as required.
- Successful completion of formal property claims training program (in‑person, virtual, or hybrid).
- Prior experience using estimating software such as Xactimate.
- Experience in a related field: property claims, customer service, construction, restoration, mitigation.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Bilingual and/or prior military experience is a plus.
- 3–5+ years of equivalent industry experience preferred.
As a Property Claims Field Adjuster 2, you will:
- Work independently with limited or no supervision over daily activities required to investigate, evaluate, write damage estimates, negotiate, and resolve claims.
- Demonstrate passion for outstanding customer service.
- Make quality decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment, including negotiation.
- Be comfortable with and adaptable to new technology and business tools.
- Seamlessly transition between inspection methods—physical, video, or photo—to write estimates.
- Handle physical tasks such as climbing ladders to inspect roofing or attic space and inspecting crawl spaces.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Organize, manage time, and prioritize to handle varying workloads due to seasonal volume and catastrophes.
- Work flexible shifts and be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Drive to multiple locations and occasionally outside of normal business hours.
