Scion Legal, the national legal recruiting division of Scion Staffing, has been engaged to lead a confidential search on behalf of a highly respected, national management-side labor and employment law firm. Our client is seeking a seasoned Employment Attorney with 7+ years of experience to join its Virtual Office as Special Counsel in a primarily remote capacity.

This firm is known for its deep bench strength in employment litigation, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering strategic, high-quality representation to employers nationwide.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a confident and self‑directed employment litigator who thrives in a high-level practice but values flexibility. The role offers a full‑cycle litigation platform with strong internal support and no business development expectations. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience handling employment matters from administrative proceedings through trial, along with the ability to supervise and mentor other attorneys in a remote environment.

Your primary focus will include:

• Administrative charges before agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
• Attorney demand letters
• Single‑plaintiff employment litigation
• Matters involving Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI)
• Potential involvement in class actions and representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act

While the position is primarily remote, occasional local travel may be required for hearings, depositions, mediations, or trial.

• Develop and execute case strategy from inception through resolution
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and written discovery
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Represent employers at hearings, mediations, conferences, and trials
• Supervise associates and review work product
• Collaborate closely with partners and a virtual litigation team
• Deliver efficient, high‑quality legal services across a diverse employer client base

• J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school
• 7+ years of employment law and litigation experience
• Active bar membership in good standing
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a remote caseload
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and client counseling skills

Preferred:

• Prior law firm experience
• Experience handling EPLI‑covered matters
• California Bar admission

Base Salary Range: $167,500 – $205,000
, depending on selected billable hour target, experience, and qualifications.
