This is a Senior Counsel position with a 1,200-hour annual billable expectation.

Senior Employment Litigation Counsel will independently manage management-side employment matters from inception through resolution and serve as a primary client contact.

You will:

• Own employment litigation matters in state and federal court;
• Develop case strategy and advise clients directly;
• Draft and argue substantive motions;
• Manage discovery with experienced paralegal support;
• Take and defend depositions;
• Handle hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations;
• Prepare matters for trial;
• Handle EEOC and other administrative agency matters as appropriate; and
• Collaborate with ELS attorneys on strategy and broader client needs.

1,200 billable hours. We believe experienced lawyers can deliver exceptional work without building their lives around a 1,800- or 2,000-hour requirement.

Real ownership. You will be trusted to run your matters and manage your client relationships.

Flexibility. Senior Counsel currently work from home three days per week, with in-person attendance as needed for court, depositions, client needs, firm meetings, and other business needs.

Experienced support. You'll have paralegal support so you can focus on work requiring an attorney's judgment and expertise.

No book required. We're hiring because we have the work. Business development is welcomed and rewarded, but you do not need to bring clients with you.

Our ideal candidate has 8+ years of practice and significant employment litigation experience. But demonstrated capability matters more to us than a particular number of years.

You should be able to receive a new matter, develop the strategy, manage the client relationship, delegate effectively, and move the case forward without day-to-day partner supervision.

Candidates should have:

• Active Georgia Bar membership in good standing;
• Significant litigation experience, with employment litigation strongly preferred;
• Demonstrated experience independently managing cases from inception through resolution;
• Strong deposition, discovery, motion, hearing, and mediation experience;
• Excellent legal analysis and persuasive writing skills;
• Strong judgment and client-service skills; and
• A collaborative, accountable approach to practicing law.

Management-side employment experience is strongly preferred. We will also consider an accomplished employment litigator whose experience and judgment demonstrate the ability to transition successfully to management-side practice.

$135,000–$150,000 base salary
, depending on experience and demonstrated ability to independently manage employment litigation and client relationships.
