We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support the Central Life Sciences businesses. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and accurate reporting of company results, lead company audit initiatives, and help drive finance business support, reporting, and analysis. The Accounting Manager will direct their team while working across the larger organization. This position will report to the Vice President, Finance & Accounting and is based in Schaumburg, IL.
Our Schaumburg office works a hybrid schedule with Mondays & Fridays work from home;
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays in office. This hybrid schedule is subject to change, of course, as business needs fluctuate.
- Ensures financial reporting is performed timely and accurately, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with all company policies and legal requirements.
- Leads internal/external audit efforts; evaluates internal controls and maintains SOX compliance.
- Oversees and manages month/quarter/year-end close activities through direct supervision on journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and reporting & analysis of operating results.
- Provides technical guidance on significant and/or non-recurring accounting transactions.
- Reviews and presents operating results with business and executive management.
- Participates in company planning process, including administrative expenses, lease activity, intangible asset amortization and working capital.
- Drives enhanced system reporting and analysis, including maintenance and upkeep of existing reports and new reports, as needed.
- Implement staff training & development activities in conjunction with company Performance Management Process (PMP).
- Works with business and IT teams to increase functionality of company ERP systems, ensure data integrity, and streamline activities to maximize process efficiency.
- Identifies and manages special projects, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
- 7-10 years’ related experience (Big 4 or public company preferred) with commensurate supervisory experience.
- Advanced Excel experience is a must, SAP experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus.
- Able to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Operates with discretion when dealing with confidential and highlysensitive information.
- This position pays approximately $115,000 - $130,000 annually, based on prior related experience and geographic location. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary management incentive.
