Job Summary

The Marketing Manager is a member of Masuda Funai’s management team and is responsible for developing and executing the marketing plans and initiatives for our diverse, full-service firm. Managing the day-to-day marketing operations (website content, communications, firm events, RFPs, and CRM maintenance), as well as working with the Practice Group leaders and Management Committee on strategy, are all part of this exciting role.

This position supervises a Marketing Assistant and regularly collaborates with the firm’s Global Client Services team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the development and implementation of marketing and business development plans for practice groups and individual attorneys
  • Plan, organize, and execute seminars, webinars, and client appreciation events and activities
  • Oversee marketing communications and public relations initiatives, including developing press releases and advertisements
  • Manage and maintain the firm’s website, which includes updating/adding content and coordinating with the Global Client Services Department to ensure the Japanese language site is current
  • Manage the firm’s Linked In page
  • Create, write, edit and distribute firm newsletters, client advisories, etc. using Constant Contact
  • Write copy for print and online advertising (firm website, Linked In, email) and serve as point person for all advertising inquiries
  • Maintain the firm’s CRM, Inter Action, and provide training to staff and attorneys
  • Conduct competitive and market research and analysis to identify emerging markets/industries to support the practice groups’ business development initiatives
  • Design and update firm marketing collateral
  • Review existing client profiles and work with Practice Group leaders to identify and facilitate methods to enhance cross-selling of services between Practice Groups and offices
  • Identify opportunities with clients and prospects and prepare new business presentations, proposals, and responses to RFPs and RFQs
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget
  • Source and maintain promotional items and client gifts
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 7+ years’ marketing experience in a law firm or professional services firm
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under demanding time constraints
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Proven project management skills and sound understanding of marketing principles
  • Creative and innovative
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Constant Contact and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Work collaboratively and efficaciously as a team member
  • High level of professionalism and confidence
