Role Description
The Social Media Marketing Specialist internship is a hybrid role based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, with some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will assist in planning, creating, and publishing engaging social media content across platforms to promote Artportunity Knocks’ programs, events, and mission. Day-to-day tasks include drafting posts, capturing photos or short videos, monitoring social channels, responding to audience engagement, and updating content calendars.
The role also supports digital marketing campaigns, collaborates with program staff to highlight success stories, and analyzes basic performance metrics to refine content strategies. The intern will work closely with the marketing team to ensure consistent branding and messaging that aligns with youth empowerment and arts education goals.
- Demonstrated skills in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing, with an understanding of major platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, X).
- Ability in Social Media Content Creation, including writing captions, selecting visuals, and developing short-form video or graphic content.
- Foundational knowledge of Marketing principles and audience engagement strategies, particularly for nonprofit or youth-focused organizations.
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey messages clearly and adapt tone for different audiences.
- Interest in arts education, youth development, or community service, and alignment with Artportunity Knocks’ mission to serve underserved communities.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail, including managing content calendars and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, including occasional on-site events or content capture.
- Experience with basic design or editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) and social media analytics is a plus.
