Position: Manager, Food Sourcing Services (Remote)

This position is fully remote with up to 30% of travel required, including an annual trip to Chicago for all‑staff meetings.

The Opportunity

Manager, Food Sourcing Services will play a critical role in the development of Feeding America’s food sourcing and distribution capacity building services to network members. This role will partner closely with network members, providing expert tools, skills, guidance, and resources to grow and sustain local food raising and overcome barriers to food distribution.

Compensation

Salary Range: $88,000 – $93,000 Based on Experience.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with network member leadership and staff focused on food sourcing, operations, and programs to assess food sourcing channels and develop strategies for sourcing and sharing product that meet the needs of local communities.
  • Support food banks with the development and implementation of Product Sourcing Plans to maximize food donations and efficient purchasing, strengthen sourcing strategies through data‑driven planning, and build organizational capacity and collaboration across teams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in assessing sourcing channels such as retail, manufacturing, and agriculture, with a focus on donor relationship building and stewardship.
  • Develop and implement tools, templates, and resources to support food sourcing and sharing across the network.
  • Facilitate learning and engagement through webinars, toolkits, convenings, trainings, onboarding and mentor programs, peer cohorts, and professional development workshops.
  • Conduct in‑depth assessments of food bank food sourcing and distribution programs that include interviews, data analysis, and review of existing processes, team structure, technology, and resources. Develop strategic recommendations and provide implementation support of the plan.
  • Identify and document emerging practices across the network and integrate them into services and resources for continuous feedback, learning, and improvement.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams such as Member Grants, Network Learning, Member Engagement, Supply Chain, and Technology to support member capacity building.
  • Participate in the review, award, and ongoing support of grants designed to enhance food sourcing and sharing across the network and increase access to nutritious, preferred food for neighbors.
  • Engage in service evaluations to continually improve offerings, tracking impact on network performance and engagement.
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in food banks sourcing or 5+ years food industry supply chain experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of supply chain professionals in multiple organizations.
  • Experience in interpreting data to derive business insights.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications required, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Salesforce (CRM) a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience as a leader in the Feeding America network preferred.
