Posting Description

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of Specialist - US Disaster Coordination. These individuals play a key role in planning, coordinating, and supporting disaster preparedness, response, and recovery activities across the U.S. Habitat network. The position ensures timely communication and collaboration across HFHI departments, affiliates, and external stakeholders before, during, and after disasters.

The Specialist helps assess affiliate and community needs, tracks response efforts, and contributes to planning for both immediate and long‑term recovery. This position will be remotely based within the U.S.

About the Disaster Response Program

Habitat for Humanity’s U.S. Disaster Services enhances the capacity of affiliated organizations nationwide to more efficiently and effectively prepare for and respond to disasters. Disasters disrupt communities and threaten access to affordable housing, resulting in the loss of housing stock and prolonged displacement for low‑income households. Recurring disasters further perpetuate housing insecurity among vulnerable populations. Through our Housing Disaster Resilience and Recovery (HDRR) Strategy, grounded in equity, impact, and partnership, we are strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and long‑term community recovery across the nation.

Our goal is to help communities prepare before disasters strike and recover more quickly when they do.
