Company Description

Chicago Fine Art Salon is a small business dedicated to cultivating an artists’ community in Chicago. The salon hosts both online and in-person exhibitions, providing a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their work. In addition, it offers fine art classes that support skill development and creative exploration. The space is also used for small private events, fostering intimate connections between artists, patrons, and art enthusiasts.

Team members join a collaborative environment focused on supporting the local arts ecosystem.

Role Description

This is a part‑time hybrid Fundraiser role based in Chicago, IL, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Fundraiser will research and identify prospective donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities that align with the salon’s mission. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include drafting outreach emails and proposals, maintaining donor and sponsor records, and supporting fundraising campaigns for exhibitions, classes, and events. The role will coordinate and attend select in‑person events to engage with patrons and partners, while also managing online fundraising initiatives and reporting on campaign performance.

The Fundraiser will collaborate closely with the salon’s leadership to develop fundraising strategies and help strengthen financial support for the artists’ community.

Qualifications
  • Experience with fundraising activities, including donor outreach, sponsorship development, and grant research and writing.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive written materials and conduct professional conversations with donors and partners.
  • Organizational and project management skills to track prospects, manage timelines, and follow through on fundraising campaigns.
  • Comfort with digital tools and platforms used for online fundraising, email communication, and basic data tracking or CRM systems.
  • Interest in and familiarity with the visual arts or creative communities; prior experience in arts, nonprofit, or small business settings is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, meet goals with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively with a small team in a hybrid environment.
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend events in Chicago, IL, as needed for exhibitions or donor‑related activities.
  • Relevant education or training in fundraising, nonprofit management, communications, arts administration, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
