Greater Chicago Area | Remote | ~30% Travel
Our client, a Top 50 NMHC Developer/Owner and national multifamily developer, is seeking a Development Manager to join its growing development team.
This role will lead due diligence, entitlements, permitting and municipal approvals for multiple ground-up multifamily projects throughout the Midwest, working closely with senior development leadership and a collaborative internal team.
Responsibilities- Lead due diligence, entitlements, zoning, permitting and municipal approvals.
- Manage civil engineers, architects, surveyors, attorneys and other consultants.
- Evaluate site constraints and development risks.
- Work directly with municipalities and other stakeholders to advance projects.
- Manage multiple projects through pre-development.
- 5–7 years in real estate development, land development, civil engineering or planning.
- Experience with entitlements, permitting and municipal approvals REQUIRED.
- Strong consultant leadership and presentation experience.
- Multifamily/residential experience preferred, but not required.
- Civil/land development professionals interested in moving to the owner/developer side are encouraged to apply.
Location: This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates based in the Greater Chicago area. Travel is approximately 30% for projects, plus 1x/month to corporate headquarters in the Midwest.
