Position Summary
At Silver Fern Chemical, we believe sustainable growth starts with a high-performing sales team. We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Sales Account Manager with experience in the chemical industry to support continued growth across the Midwest.
This role reports directly to the CEO, who takes a highly hands-on and collaborative approach to leadership. The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and driving sales strategy across multiple industries and product lines.

This is a remote, work-from-home position based in the Midwest (IL, IN, MN, IA, OK, and surrounding states). The role plays a key part in expanding Silver Fern Chemical’s regional footprint and customer relationships.
Key Objectives- Build and grow a Midwest-based B2B customer portfolio aligned with Silver Fern’s product and service offerings.
- Drive consistent sales growth through strategic planning, targeted prospecting, and performance analysis.
- Establish trusted, long-term relationships with customers, prospects, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to leadership based on customer feedback and industry trends.
- Manage sales opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial concept through close.
- Execute targeted sales outreach, engaging primarily with product end-users, technical teams, and R&D personnel.
- Cold calling will be central part of this role.
- Respond to inbound inquiries and leads, providing technical information and documentation to convert prospects into customers.
- Apply consultative selling techniques to identify unmet needs and develop tailored supply chain solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in CRM and leverage data to uncover growth opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and chemical suppliers to develop optimized customer solutions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in chemical distribution, b2b chemical sales and industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Paint and Coatings and HI&I would be considered a plus.
- Preference given to candidates with hands-on chemical industry experience over years of sales tenure alone.
- Strong desire to build a long-term career in chemical sales.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident, professional, and relationship-driven interpersonal style.
- Base Salary: $80,000 – $105,000 annually + quarterly commissions
