Business Development Industrial Account Manager
Fastenal Dedicated – Remote – Midwest / East Region, United States (60% travel)
OverviewResponsible for increasing sales of PROTO, Stanley, Craftsman, Lenox, and DEWALT brands marketed through National Accounts partners in industrial channels. Owns full sales cycle, including needs identification, solution presentation, execution, forecasting, and POS review. Manages budgeting and competitive landscape analysis to secure channel position.
Responsibilities- Grow and develop relationships with key verticals within distribution partners representing the total breadth of Stanley Black & Decker industrial solution brands.
- Identify target opportunities, run product trials, and provide cost‑savings analysis to demonstrate value vs price.
- Identify key national opportunities with distribution partners and execute promotions, programs, and new product introductions.
- Manage administrative tasks: expense reporting, forecasts, gap plans, upside opportunities, and other leadership requests.
- Maintain distributor motivation, supply product information, and leverage technical services as value‑added.
- Document all account activity in CRM and provide value‑added documentation to distributors/end‑users.
- Provide product training through seminars and regional events.
- Travel 50‑60% within territory, including local/overnight and national distributor meetings and industry trade shows.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field, or 5+ years equivalent shop experience.
- Minimum 2 years direct industrial sales experience; strong preference for experience with industrial accounts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Salesforce or other CRM experience preferred. - Technical and mechanical aptitude to work with tools and machines.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, and mechanical systems preferred.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to develop and present programs to customers and internal sales organization.
- Willingness to travel 60% of the time.
Base salary range: $84,000-$135,200 annual. Eligible for sales incentive plan or commission. Total target cash compensation includes base salary and variable cash. Additional benefits: medical, dental, life, vision, disability, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and discounts on Stanley Black & Decker tools and partner programs.
