Trades Specialist – Chicago, IL

As a field‑based Trades Specialist, you will work as part of the Commercial Construction field sales team within the Chicago territory, driving top‑line sales of power tools and construction solutions across multiple brands.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales targets and meet division/local market goals by selling DeWalt, Stanley, LenoX, and other brands to end users.
  • Establish, maintain, and deepen relationships with key end‑user partners and manage core contracts and programs.
  • Educate and mentor the local market team on end‑user development, procurement processes, and alignment with marketing, product management, and service centers.
  • Collaborate with Channel Marketing to plan and execute marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records in , reporting progress and insights to streamline future opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field (relevant construction experience may substitute).
  • 3+ years of sales or marketing experience in construction supplies with a track record of selling to executives and jobsite directors.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Empathy combined with determination to achieve results.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50% within the territory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Compensation

Base salary range: $84,000 – $135,200. Total target cash compensation includes base salary plus eligible sales incentive or commission plans.
