SUMMARY / OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Senior Debt Capital Markets Specialist I to take ownership of all tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of this position. This role processes securities transactions with high accuracy across various operational systems, works in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple requests simultaneously, leverages technology and resources for routine efficiencies, and provides exceptional customer service in a professional team setting.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS
  • Provides extraordinary customer service to customers, colleagues, and associates (internal and external) enthusiastically, professionally, and with confidence through various means of communication.
  • Accurately processes securities transactions through various systems, including entry of detailed information for establishing new accounts, new security issue set‑up, trade tickets, settlements, payments of principal/interest and pledging.
  • Leverages technology and resources efficiently for communications, recordkeeping, reporting, and other tasks.
  • Researches and resolves issues independently.
  • Shares knowledge with team members to strengthen understanding of processes, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Stays knowledgeable of changes affecting securities processes that may create operational or service opportunities.
  • Strives for an in‑depth understanding of securities processing and a general understanding of other division services.
  • Maintains good relationships with internal and external customers, management teams, and other contacts.
  • Ensures strict compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides assistance to other employees via healthy and positive interactions.
  • Participates in marketing endeavors/efforts.
  • Continuously updates skills by participating in professional training and cross‑training opportunities offered by the bank.
  • Performs all other tasks, responsibilities, or duties as directed by management.
COMPETENCIES
  • Proficient with general office machines and programs:
    Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other department software.
  • Efficient computer usage and eagerness to learn new software.
  • Good knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Clear, effective written and spoken communication in English.
  • Well‑organized, accurate, and attentive to detail.
  • Effective listening skills and ability to propose solutions based on others’ input.
  • Excellent multi‑tasking and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Remains composed under pressure and responds to customer and coworker concerns regularly.

  • Patient and willing to help others solve problems while maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATION

Education: Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience: One to three years of related experience and/or training.

Certifications/Specific Knowledge: None.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS / CLASSES
  • Required annual compliance training.
  • New Employee Orientation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires a large amount of time in front of a computer, either sitting or standing. Must be able to remain seated or work standing in a confined area while constantly entering data or answering a phone during most of an eight‑hour shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuting roles (hybrid or 100% full time) require a secure home office free from background noise and distractions, as well as a reliable private internet connection (cable or fiber preferred).

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to attend meetings, conferences, or training as needed.
