The Bilingual Home Visitor delivers school and/or community-based parent education (group and/or individual) and home-visiting services to pregnant and/or parenting adults and their young children. Home visiting services will involve travel and visiting residences within communities. Staff will work evenings and some weekends. Home Visitors must demonstrate knowledge of communities and in working with diverse populations. The role includes assessment of parent, child, and family’s needs and providing developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support to parents.
Duties- Conduct program enrollment (intake screening and assessment) of pregnant and/or parenting program participants, obtain consent, engage parents, and identify and link families to services based upon need upon enrollment.
- Maintain a caseload of 24 children.
- Provide individual case management and/or assistance to families as warranted to help sustain program participation and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Plan and implement home visits, parenting groups, and parent-child activities; provide advocacy, outreach, referral, and linkage to agency and community resources.
- Refer and link families to early intervention services; include monitoring and tracking childhood immunizations and developmental screenings of children if needed.
- Prepare all required quantitative and qualitative reports and documentation according to department and contract guidelines. Reporting may include manual and computer-generated systems for collecting, storing, and retrieving data.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Child Development, or a related field.
- Gateway Family Specialist Credential Level 5.
- At least two years of experience providing direct service delivery to parents and their dependent children and immediate family members.
- Experience working with federal/state contracts and foundations desired.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
- Must be bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Must have reliable and efficient transportation to complete caseload responsibilities.
Salary: $48,200 per year.
