Senior Backend Software Engineer – Remote

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in developing production-grade software
• Minimum 3 years of experience creating production-level Node.js applications using frameworks like Fastify or Express
• Proficient in Type Script and Node.js, with a solid track record in designing and maintaining scalable RESTful and/or RPC-style APIs
• Experience integrating AI/ML services into production systems, including LLM integration and prompt engineering is highly desirable
• A product-focused engineering approach that addresses ambiguous requirements with practical solutions
• Ability to contribute to frontend development when necessary, with familiarity in React/Next.js codebases
• Strong database skills, specifically with RDBMS and SQL (MySQL or Postgre
  
  SQL), including query optimization and database design
• Thorough understanding of software engineering principles and full development lifecycle experience, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS, including ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, and CI/CD pipelines
• Belief in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment with a distributed team

• Design, create, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that drive our customer-facing and internal applications
• Architect and develop scalable backend solutions using Node.js and Type Script to ensure thorough integration with frontend experiences
• Oversee the complete delivery of complex integration initiatives including third-party lending systems and RESTful/RPC APIs, ensuring data synchronization and robust error handling
• Contribute to the development of AI-enhanced features and initiatives for improved risk analysis and decision-making
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to create innovative technology solutions for enhancing user experiences
• Advocate for and implement best practices in architecture, security, testing, monitoring, and deployment to maintain scalable and reliable applications
• Provide mentorship and share expertise, proactively addressing technical challenges and exploring new tools and methodologies
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support system reliability and quick response initiatives
