Alliant Credit Union is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Chicago, IL. The role will involve analyzing legacy system architecture and performance metrics to recommend modernization strategies using C#, .NET Framework, MVC, .NET Core, Azure Dev Ops, REST and Web API. Responsibilities also include developing solutions for public or internal use to optimize member experience, system stability and operational efficiency; assessing business requirements and technical constraints to design and deploy secure, high‑performance systems with C#, Entity Framework Core and RESTful APIs;

applying knowledge of the financial industry with Symitar API and related platforms; conducting detailed system interaction analysis to determine cost‑effective solutions; collaborating with cross‑functional teams to plan and execute system upgrades using monitoring tools; leading the transformation of outdated applications through Agile methodology and Azure Dev Ops; and working three days per week with remote work allowed while living within normal commuting distance of Chicago, IL.

Expected qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent foreign degree, with at least eight years of related experience. Candidates should possess the following skills: 5 years of experience with C# .NET, MVC, .NET Core, Azure Dev Ops, and REST/Web APIs; 2 years developing software solutions to optimize member experience; 5 years designing secure high‑performance systems with C#, Entity Framework Core and RESTful APIs;

1 year working with Symitar API and related financial industry platforms; 5 years analyzing system interactions and resolving problems; 1 year collaborating on system upgrades with monitoring tools; and 5 years leading modernization of outdated applications using Agile and Azure Dev Ops.

Salary range: $154,000 – $164,000.
