Fuse Technical Group, LLC is searching for a dynamic individual to join our team. The Logistics Manager is responsible for national and international freight and logistics management for projects and all related shipping needs. The freight & logistics manager will work within the Operations management team to optimize logistical movements and freight spending for Fuse Technical Group.

This position reports to and supports the National Director of Operations.

Primary Objectives Management of Freight Operations
  • Develop and implement the best practice logistics vision, strategy, processes, and procedures to aid and improve service performance and associated costs.
  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with Operations/Equipment Planning Group management, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.
  • Create resolutions for issues concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports or customer issues.
  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
Establish New Methodologies and Processes for Freight Management
  • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequency.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
  • Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities and advise of cost implications and efficiency.
  • Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process.
Engagement/Extension/Management of Vendor Relationships
  • Develop and maintain national and international relationships with shipping vendors.
  • Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
Transactional Duties and Transaction Support
  • Plan freight for project needs with project management, Equipment Planning Group, and operations Determine the most efficient shipping approach.
  • Work with operations and Equipment Planning Group to arrange intercompany transfers of equipment.
  • International Support - Identify and engage with key suppliers.
  • Educate sales personnel on costs per job and overall.
  • Manage TIB’s and other time sensitive freight considerations to avoid paying any unnecessary duties/ tariffs/etc.
  • Create shipping BOLs with vendors, create purchase orders, review, and approve shipping invoices.
  • Communicate all shipping information to project leads and local offices dates, times, driver info, venue info, cost approval (to salesperson).
  • Track and manage reporting for all freight shipments.
Manage, coach, and develop direct reports
  • Develop and manage objectives and best practices.
  • Review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Hiring of personnel if position is defined and approved through National Director of Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements.

Education and Experience
  • Previous experience in shipping/logistics required.
  • Previous experience in International Freight: 7 years (Required).
  • Previous experience in Audio Visual Fulfillment: 1 year (Preferred).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, and organization skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience required.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities
  • Be flexible and ready to take the lead to solve problems as they arise.

Work Location

In location presence required, travel 3-4 times a year, remote work available but not guaranteed.
