Responsibilities
- Daily review maintenance time sheets and compare completed work orders and PMs to time sheets, ensuring numbers match and rescheduling any incomplete work orders and PMs.
- Review work orders for parts that need ordering.
- Review completed preventative maintenance (PM) and ensure appropriate work orders are written.
- Write new work orders as needed.
- Plan and schedule maintenance work orders and PMs daily, prioritizing safety work orders that pose immediate hazards.
- Confirm parts are in stock for scheduled work.
- Create purchase requisitions and order part numbers for non‑stock items.
- Track problem areas in the mill by reviewing function locations with repetitive work orders.
- Track cylinder, electric motor, and pump failures from open work orders to completion.
- Schedule outside contractors for maintenance or repair services as required.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings.
- Communicate daily with the Maintenance Supervisor concerning maintenance issues and repetitive problems.
- Participate in RCFA team activities to identify and implement failure solutions.
- Interface with Predictive Maintenance Technicians to incorporate condition‑monitoring data into planned maintenance, preventing failures.
- Act as Maintenance Clerk backup when needed, completing PMs and work orders, printing PMs, and completing maintenance time and payroll.
- Print safety work order reports, PM reports, and failure and cost reports.
- Help refine PMs as needed.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Experience with CMMS systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance planner experience, preferably including daily maintenance planning and scheduled outages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of communicating across all levels of the mill.
- Experience in the wood products/lumber industry.
- 10+ years of millwright experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
