Job Summary

Perform custodial operations to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained at assigned locations while maintaining inventory needs and other job duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform building cleaning following established routines, including but not limited to:
    • Clean, vacuum, strip, scrub, buff and finish floors
    • Wash and sanitize, spot removal, and dusting of walls, ceilings, and doors
    • Wash windows
    • Dust furniture, fixtures and equipment
    • Wash, scour, polish, and sanitize bathrooms and drinking fountains
    • Stock restroom and kitchen supplies
    • Empty trash containers, replace liners, sanitize receptacle
  • Perform other facilities services duties as directed by supervisor, including but not limited to:
    • Assist in event operations at various venues.
    • Remove spider webs and other debris from interior and exterior of buildings and structures
    • Wash the exterior of buildings and structures such as The WH Stark House porch
Work Location

Employee may be assigned work at any and all Stark Foundation properties.

  • Use proper methods and use of materials, products, and equipment in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and sanitation of facilities.
  • Provide courteous, professional, timely and accurate service and support to all visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
  • Give and welcome feedback; contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Follows safe work procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, notify supervisor of damages, defects, or the need for repairs that could prevent deterioration of equipment or possible injury to employees or others.
  • Properly store all supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Exercise care, perform required maintenance, and follow all operating instructions, safety standards, and guidelines when operating equipment or vehicles.
  • Observe scheduled work hours.

Experience

Six months building cleaning experience preferred with emphasis on high cleanliness standards.

Interpersonal Skills

Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. Must be a team player able to work comfortably and effectively in cross-functional teams.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb stairs and step stools. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Job requires lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work

Environment

The employee will rotate between various Foundation properties. Some areas are climate controlled; however, other assignments are not. Those are commonly wet, humid, hot or cold. Noise levels are generally moderate. However, the use of certain equipment may require the use of hearing protection. Exposure to cleaning agents.

Special Requirements

Position will require evening and weekend work hours for venues open on Saturdays, and during scheduled events and programs.
