Temporary Church CustodianOrange TX

We are looking for the perfect Church Custodian to add to our staff, in Orange, TX. The candidate must be very compassionate and enjoys serving others.

The Church Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall upkeep and attractiveness of the church facilities and grounds. This role is vital to creating a welcoming and safe environment for all congregants, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to the mission of the church.

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of all church areas, including worship spaces, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and kitchens.
• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures, and ensure windows and doors are cleaned regularly.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning as needed.
• Ensure that all restrooms are stocked with supplies and kept in sanitary condition.
• Move furniture, such as tables and chairs to prepare for a variety of scheduled events, and be available to clean up after each event.
• Prepare classroom areas for activities.
• Prepare baptistery for use.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping tasks, picking up debris, and ensuring the grounds are tidy.
• Report any hazardous conditions or safety concerns to the church administration.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; reorder as needed.
• Ensure that all cleaning supplies are used safely and stored properly.

• May require working evenings or weekends, particularly during special services or events.

• Must be a Texas or Louisiana resident at the time of application and hire.
• Must have a valid  Driver's License and Social Security Card.
• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and moving heavy items up to 50 pounds.
• Clear background check and drug screen required.
