Waste Serv, through its contractor OZO Services, is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Technical Officer - Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• To maintain the plant on-going at all times and carry out the required troubleshooting in the minimum possible time so as to minimise downtime;
• To prevent and carry out the required troubleshooting on control systems and PLCs together with his/her team;
• To prevent and solve any technical (mechanical and electrical) issues that may arise together with his/her team;
• To take decisions directly related to the type and arrangements of specific circuits, PLCs, piping, etc together with electrician;
• Be capable to operate a Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) Refrigerant Recovery Unit in a safe manner;
• To establish structured documentation and filing to facilitate retrieval for future reference.

• MQF Level 5 with 5 years experience
  OR
• MQF Level 4 with 10 years experience
  N.B.:
  Please note that MQF Levels 4 MCAST Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a qualified institution.
  N.B.:
  Please note that MQF Levels 5 MCAST Undergraduate Diploma in Foundations of Engineering or equivalent from a qualified institution.
• Must successfully complete Hydraulics, Pumps & Pneumatics - Maintenance & Troubleshooting course OR equivalent, within a period of 1 Year from starting date, provided by the company;
• Have a certificate from MCAST in Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMA) and/or MIG or equivalent at Level 3 or better;
• Must successfully obtain a license required to work with refrigeration gases within a period of 1 year from starting date, provided by the company.

Moreover, the selected candidate should;

• Have Electrical Licence A or successfully obtain, within a period of 1 Year from starting date, provided by the company;
• Have Electrical Licence B or successfully obtain, within a period of 3 Year from starting date, provided by the company;
• Driving License B, Licence C1 will be considered an asset;
• Experience in a supervisory role will be considered an asset;
• Ability to follow Safety Standards;
• Strong analytical and reasoning abilities;
• Strong leadership skills;
• A hands on approach with eye for detail and good workmanship quality;
• Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese and be IT Literate;
• The ability to identify, analyses and solve problems;
• The ability to work on own initiative;
• Any related work experience and supervision of a team will be considered an asset;
• A valid & clean Police Conduct.
