Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Recognize and stop risky behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and the environment
• Perform repetitive tasks

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver’s license may be required; forklift certification may be required
• Safety and task training certification completed
• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team
• Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
• Frequent sitting and listening or talking required

Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm; $17.00/hr – $17.50/hr
