Floor Tech (Full-Time)

Union Post Acute – Union, South Carolina

Position Details
  • Full‑time position
  • $16 per hour
  • 8‑hour shifts
  • Work every other weekend
  • Benefits available (medical, dental, vision and more for eligible employees)
Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain floors throughout the facility (vacuuming, mopping, buffing, stripping & waxing as needed)
  • Keep resident rooms, hallways and common areas looking fresh and welcoming
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns as needed
  • Work closely with the housekeeping and maintenance teams
Essential Duties
  • Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors.
  • Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
  • Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
  • Remove dirt, dust and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars and dispensers.
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
  • Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
  • Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Keep housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas clean, organized and sanitary.
  • Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator or Director of Nursing.
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
  • Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long‑term care setting is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, mopping and wiping surfaces.
  • Use of cleaning equipment and supplies throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond quickly to needs.
