Overview

Performs all standard custodial duties, as well as additional assignments generated through customer service requests, emergency cleanups, and other on-demand facility support needs and service calls. Provides preventive cleaning services for Federal Agency in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responding to unscheduled cleaning requests throughout the facility.
Addressing spills, accidents, and other immediate sanitation concerns.
Supporting event setup, breakdown, and special service requests when needed.
Monitoring high-traffic areas and proactively addressing cleanliness concerns between scheduled cleaning cycles.
Providing rapid-response support to maintain the overall appearance and safety of the facility.

Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas of the facility.

Performs cleaning duties such as dusting lights, furniture, and other horizontal surfaces, dry mopping hard floor surfaces, vacuuming carpets, emptying and cleaning trash containers and ashtrays, spot cleaning walls and windows, and using the high-speed buffer to burnish hard floor surfaces.

Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.

* This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of up to 40 pounds. Prolonged walking and standing are required as well as frequent bending, reaching and stooping.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Notifies supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to decipher/comprehend signs indicating danger.

Skilled in the knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment such as a scrubber and extractor.

Ability to obtain security clearance to work at assigned work site.

Preferred Qualifications

One year’s previous custodial experience on a federal contract or commercial cleaning site.
