Job Overview
The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and handling tasks such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behaviors in others and in yourself.
- Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Communicate with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use required personal protective equipment for assigned tasks.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and environmental reporting.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area and perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors (tile, carpet, and brick).
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly; operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
- Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor.”
- Work without normal supervision.
- Report safety hazards as appropriate.
- No specific education required; 6‑month to 1‑year experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
- Complete all safety and task training certifications; forklift certification may be required.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team.
- Knowledge of equipment upkeep and care.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Requires frequent sitting and talking or listening; staff may need to spend extended periods in the work environment.
Mon‑Fri: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm | $17.50–18.50 per hour
