Maintenance/Cleaning
Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
As things are changing for our company and my role is moving toward education, we are looking for an ambitious individual that either currently has diagnostic skills or the desire to develop them. The duties will be traveling mainly in Davis and Weber County , Utah working with established automotive shops. Tasks are Programming and Updates, Security Learn, Labscope Use, Using Wiring Diagrams for Diagnosis and Using scan tools to diagnose difficult problems.
Most often the issues are difficult as the shop technicians have already covered the basics. We provide on the job training and electronic tools. Position requires use of the candidates personal vehicle. We give a monthly vehicle allowance for fuel and maintenance. The employee would work with peers and mentors to complete tasks. So when an extremely difficult occasion occurs, we work together to get the problem found and the job completed.
The compensation is per call. Other options are negotiable.
A little about Utah. We have one of the best economies in the US. Utah has no debt and even a rainy day fund. Most of the population is along the Wasatch Mountains. Utah has four seasons but normally the winters are mild. Climate is dry with few humid days. We have lots of sunny days. There are lots of mountains, deserts, lakes, hiking trails.
Hunting, Fishing, Skiing (Water and Snow), Watersports, ATV and Motorcycle trails, Shooting sports. We have 5 National Parks and many state and national monuments. We have hundreds of square miles of open space. Take a weekend and disappear. Unfortunately, the Ocean is 500 miles away. Just a short 12 hour drive.

Would love to talk my wife into getting away from city life and move to the big country.

David,We still have all the amenities. Great Hospitals, SAMS CLUB, Costco, Theatres, Culture, Restaurants, ect… However, you can travel an hour West and be in open space.

I know that Weber State has a strong automotive program. I wonder if it would be worth contacting their employment services department.
If you are after someone that is more seasoned, maybe one of the BS students that has been around the block a time or two would be interested.

Hi Mike,I attended Weber State back in the 80s. Every once in a while I have interactions with the staff. They seem to be good folks.

Edwin,As far as equipment, I would supply IDS for Ford, Witech 2.0 for Chrysler and GM OEM software and hardware. Additionally a J2534 device, Auto Pro Pad , Autel 908P, Stable Power and a couple of laptops. My son carries around this in his Ford Escape no problem. Any other tools required would be passed off as needed.

I am in the Ogden area right now. It is a very nice place with mountains with snow on them and the temps this weekend were in the mid 60's. It is absolutely a beautiful place to live!! The people are friendly as well.
